Isla Cristina is a spot that due to it´s great geographic location offers many excursions from there to other nearby municipalities so that you can explore other spots. There are many places in an hour´s time.

From Isla Cristina towards the west, you can visit Punta del Moral or Isla Canela, tourist complexes belonging to the muncipality of Ayamonte. More towards the west we reach Portugal, and the locality of Vila Real de Santo Antonio, Tavira and Castro Marim...small municipalities of the district of Faro in the portuguese Algarve. In these areas you can enjoy the excellent gastronomy, as well as it´s lovely beachs. If you travel a little further you´ll reach Faro, a small twon of Sagres and Carrapateira.

Towards the east, there is still coast, and you´ll find no better or worse beaches in Islantilla. You also have La Antilla, Lepe or Punta Umbria as choices. An excursion a little further away but nonetheless very interesting is that of visiting the Natural Park of Donana, Almonte, Matalascanas and Mazagon.
